About me

Glenn Cooper

Welcome to my counselling practice! I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), practicing within their ethical framework to provide high-quality therapeutic care.

Since opening my private practice in 2019, I have offered counselling and psychotherapy services to adults and children facing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress. My background includes a BSc Honours degree in Psychology, complemented by a Level 4 diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development through continuous training and supervision, ensuring I provide the most effective support to my clients.

In addition to my private practice, I have previously worked as a student counsellor with the Bedford College Group, supporting students in Special Educational Needs Schools, Colleges, Secondary, and Primary Education. My full enhanced DBS clearance allows me to work safely with children and vulnerable individuals.

My therapeutic approach is warm, friendly, and compassionate, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment. I tailor my psychotherapy to meet the unique needs of each individual client, fostering a collaborative relationship where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment.

If you're seeking professional support for mental health challenges, or if you want to improve your overall well-being, I am here to help you on your journey toward personal growth and healing. I look forward to working with you in Hitchin!

My methods of working

As a Therapeutic Counsellor

My approach to counselling is centered around you, the client. You are the expert on how your past and present experiences impact your feelings, emotional well-being, and mental health. My role is to walk alongside you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can process openly.

If you’re interested in how a humanistic, client-led approach to counselling could benefit you, please feel free to reach out Contact Me.

As a Psychologist

I leverage my understanding of human behavior, gained through my studies in cognitive function and the impact of social environments, in my work as a Therapeutic Counsellor. This knowledge enhances my ability to support clients effectively, allowing us to explore the intricate connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in our sessions.

What therapy can offer you

Therapy provides a valuable opportunity to release powerful, unconscious blocks and fears that may be hindering your personal growth and well-being.

In our counselling sessions, you will be empowered to ask questions and focus on specific issues that are important to you. Together, we will explore what is working in your life while identifying any obstacles that may prevent you from achieving your personal goals. The goal of therapy goes beyond merely helping you feel better; it aims to enhance your self-understanding and awareness.

Through consistent and ongoing sessions, you will learn and maintain essential skills that support your journey toward personal growth and lasting progress. Embrace the transformative power of therapy to unlock your potential and create a more fulfilling life.
