About me

I am a registered member of, and practice within, the ethical framework set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (https://www.bacp.co.uk/).

I opened my private practice in 2019, offering counselling/psychotherapy to adults and children experiencing a range of mental health issues (see 'Areas I can support with').  Prior to this I completed a BSc Honours degree in Psychology before going on to gain a Level 4 diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling.  I attend ongoing training and supervision.

Alongside my private practice, where I work with adults and children,  from around 2016 I have worked as a student counsellor with the Bedford College Group; with students in Special Educational Needs Schools, Colleges, Secondary Education and Primary education.

I have full enhanced DBS clearance for working with children and vulnerable persons.

My therapeutic style is warm, approachable, friendly, supportive and compassionate. Psychotherapy is tailored to the specific needs of each individual client as they form in a collaborative relationship

What therapy can offer you

Therapy can help you to release powerful, unconscious blocks and fears that may be holding you back.

Therapy sessions should empower you to ask questions, focus on specific issues, and support not only what is working, but uncover any obstacles that may keep you from achieving your personal goals. More than just making you feel better, the goal is to help you understand yourself better. Consistent and ongoing sessions can ensure that you maintain the skills being learned and this helps you effectively stay on the path toward personal growth and progress.

My methods of working

As a Therapeutic counsellor

My approach to counselling puts you, the client, in control.  You are the best person to know how events/experiences, past or present have impacted on your feelings, emotional well-being and mental health.

I see my role as being someone to walk beside you during your exploration of your thoughts, feelings and experiences while offering a safe, confidential and non judgemental environment to openly process.

For more information on how a humanistic, client led approach to counselling could work for you please contact me using the 'contact me' button below.

As a Psychologist

I draw on my understanding of human behaviour through my studies on cognitive function and how social environments can effect human behaviour.

This knowledge is incorporated in to my client work as a Therapeutic counsellor.
